A little about me
Since 1997, I have had the honor of serving the community of York South – Weston as City Councillor. Prior to the amalgamation of Metropolitan Toronto, I held the esteemed position of Mayor of York from 1994 to 1997, following my role as a dedicated City of York Councillor from 1988 to 1994.
My commitment to public service extends beyond my local constituency to City Hall. For the past 14 years, starting in December 2010, I have been elected by Council to serve as the Speaker of Toronto City Council, a testament to the trust and confidence placed in me by City Council. This role allows me to contribute to the governance and progress of our great city.
