Dear friends and neighbours,

The provincial government has made several new announcements regarding COVID-19 guidelines and recommendations, including approving the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for children turning 12 before the end of the year, adding vaccine requirements for select workers in Ontario, and recommending a 3rd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for select populations.

Since May 1, 2021, Toronto Public Health has reported that 98.7% of individuals hospitalized due to complications associated with COVID-19 (with a known vaccination status) had not completed their vaccine series. These findings underscore the importance of completing one's vaccine series—especially for students who will be returning to school on September 9.
