August 4 eNews

Dear friends and neighbours,

This past Sunday marked the start of Emancipation Month—a time to acknowledge the grim legacy of slavery in Canada, honour the hard-won freedoms of Black Canadians, and celebrate the contributions that people of African descent have offered to the City of Toronto and Canada. Throughout this month, the City and its community partners will provide residents with the opportunity to engage in a series of events on slavery and anti-racism, including an augmented reality (AR) installation at the Toronto History Museum, which will launch on August 9, 2021.

I am also excited to announce that our new website is now live. The site offers enhanced accessibility, including larger fonts and streamlined web pages that will improve your browsing experience. Please note that my staff will no longer be updating my old website; however, you can still access it by clicking here.

Finally, in our July 29 eNews, the link we provided to the City of Toronto's property tax and utility relief web page was broken. Please see the corrected link below.

Stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,
Frances
