July 29 eNews
Dear friends and neighbours,
A number of residents have notified our office of a recent spike in coyote sightings in York South—Weston. Unfortunately, coyote sightings have become more common across the Greater Toronto Area, likely due to decreased human activity during the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to keep your pets and family safe, please see the City of Toronto's webpage on coyotes. The linked page includes information on how to deter coyotes, an overview of the City of Toronto's coyote response strategy, and an e-learning course on coyotes in the urban landscape.
I am also excited to announce that our office has been working on a new, streamlined website to better meet the needs of the community. Construction of the new website has been completed, however, it will take one week to transfer the domain name from our old site to our new one. In the meantime, we will continue to post updates on our archived site at https://councillornunziata.wixsite.com/website. We expect to debut our new website on first week of August 2021—and, as soon as it is operational, we will provide an update on Facebook and Twitter.
Stay safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
Frances
