Dear friends and neighbours,

I hope you had a great Canada Day weekend and were able to safely take part in festivities with friends and loved ones.

It has come to my attention that there were some incidents of disturbances involving fireworks. Community operated fireworks have adverse effects on the livelihoods of local residents, causing excessive property damage, noise, causing physical harm—especially to children and youth—and frightening wild and domestic animals. I am putting forward a Member's Motion to determine the feasibility of restricting the sale of consumer fireworks. The motion will be put before City Council next week.

City Council will also consider PH25.10: A New Regulatory Framework for Multi-tenant Houses. If passed, the motion will update the existing regulatory framework for multi-tenant housing to ensure the health and safety of tenants. Please read the motion and share your thoughts using the following survey before July 14.

Sincerely,
Frances
