Traffic Configuration Change on Eglinton Ave W
As early as Thursday November 11, 2021, a new traffic configuration will be implemented on Eglinton Avenue West between Weston Road and Black Creek Drive. One lane of through traffic will be maintained in each direction. This temporary traffic configuration is expected to remain in place through January 2022.
Partial Road Closure on Buttonwood Ave
From November 10 to 12, a portion of Buttonwood Ave. will be closed as construction workers are working to install and connect utility lines to the new West Park Healthcare Centre hospital.
Lanes Shifting on Eglinton Ave W for Phase 2 of Milling
As early as Wednesday October 27, 2021, crews will continue milling works on Eglinton Avenue West between Black Creek Drive and Bicknell Avenue. While the work is ongoing, eastbound traffic will shift to the south side of the road, and westbound traffic will shift to the north side of the road. This work is expected to take place on weekdays between 7:00 am–5:00 pm for approximately three days.
DELAYED: Eastbound Traffic Lane Closure on St Clair Ave W
A Toronto Water contractor will be completing an emergency repair to damaged catch basins along St Clair Ave W. This repair will require full closure to eastbound vehicular traffic on St Clair Ave W from Keele St to Old Weston Rd, starting at 9:00 am on Friday, October 15, 2021 until 9:00 pm on Friday, October 22, 2021. To minimize long-term traffic disruption and congestion, the repairs will commence on a 24/7 basis.
Weston Road Drilling Activities
Metrolinx will be completing a Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) on the properties located at 139-153 Weston Road, Toronto. During the Phase 2 ESA, groundwater monitoring wells will be installed by Licensed Drillers and a drill rig will be in operation. Metrolinx has scheduled to complete the monitoring well installations on October 23, October 24, October 28, October 29, October 30 and October 31, 2021 (all day).
Lane Reductions on Eglinton Ave W at Caledonia Rd
As early as Friday October 22, 2021, eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West at Caledonia Road will be reduced to a single thru lane to facilitate construction work. The northbound left turn at the intersection will be restricted for the duration of this work. All pedestrian access will be maintained. This work is expected to take place between 7:00 am–5:00 pm for approximately 4 weeks.
Construction of Denarda Ave Public Space
The Mount Dennis Business Improvement Area (BIA) and the City of Toronto will be constructing landscaping improvements at the northeast portion of Denarda Avenue. Construction will take place in two steps, with Phase 1 beginning in November 2021. During this time, crews will work between 7:00 am–5:00 pm Monday to Friday (and the occasional Saturday, as required).

As early as Tuesday, October 19, for approximately 1 week, vehicular traffic will be reduced to one thru lane for each of the following: eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West; westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West; and northbound traffic on Black Creek Drive. Road work will take place Monday to Friday between 7:00 am–5:00 pm for approximately one week.
Construction on Buttonwood Ave
There will be construction on Buttonwood Ave, beginning on Monday, October 18, for approximately six weeks. Construction workers will be installing and connecting utility lines to the new hospital, such as water mains and sewer lines, communication and hydro duct banks
Geotechnical Drilling on Scarlett Rd
A borehole drilling program will be commencing within the Rockcliffe-Smythe neighbourhood in support of the Rockcliffe Riverine Flood Mitigation Municipal Class Environmental Assessment project. Drilling will commence some time between October 18 and November 18 and, once started, the work will take place between 7:00 am–7:00 pm for approximately 1 week.
Nightly Road Closure on Eglinton Ave W
As early as Thursday October 7, 2021, crews will be performing construction activities to widen the GO platform bridge. To facilitate this work safely, Eglinton Avenue West will be closed between Weston Road and Black Creek Drive at night for approximately two nights between the hours of 8:00 pm and 6:00 am.
Road Restoration Work along Todd Baylis Blvd
As early as Monday, October 4, 2021, crews will be performing road restoration work along Todd Baylis Boulevard. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in both directions south of the Storage Mart entrance. The north sidewalk will also be restricted to pedestrians between Black Creek Drive and the Storage Mart. Work is expected to take place between 7:00 am–5:00 pm for approximately 2 weeks.
Lane Reductions at Black Creek Dr and Eglinton Ave W
As early as Monday October 4, 2021, crews will be performing median restoration works at Black Creek Drive and Eglinton Avenue West. Eastbound and westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one ‘thru’ lane in each direction. This work is expected to take place Monday – Friday between 7:00 am–5:00 pm for approximately 5 weeks.
Environmental Fieldwork along Eglinton Ave W
Metrolinx is undertaking several fieldwork programs along Eglinton Avenue West between Martin Grove Road and Weston Road. Work is scheduled to occur until December 2021. There will be no noise, pedestrian, or traffic impacts associated with this work. Community access to park amenities will not be affected either.
Overnight Track Construction: Locust St to Barr Ave
As early as Tuesday September 28, 2021, crews will continue working overnight in the Railway Corridor between Locust Street and Barr Avenue. The work is expected to take place Monday–Saturday between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. for approximately five weeks.
Basement Flooding Protection in the Weston Area
Due to groundwater conditions encountered during the construction of the proposed basement flooding work on Wright Avenue, a stoppage of work was required. Work will resume in the summer of 2022. A construction notice will be issued to residents at least two weeks before construction.
Restricted Parking on Locust St
From Friday, October 1 – Monday, October 4, 2021, overnight deliveries will take place at the Railway Corridor site. In order to perform the works safely, street parking on the north and south sides of Locust Street will be prohibited. Property access will be maintained at all times, and no impact to residential driveways on Locust Street is expected.
Lane Reductions at Black Creek Dr and Eglinton Ave W
As early as Monday September 27, 2021, for approximately one week, eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane, and westbound traffic will be reduced to two lanes. This work is expected to take place Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Maintenance and Repair on Emmett Ave Laneway
Beginning September 27, 2021, the City of Toronto will commence emergency repairs on a sewer main located on Emmett Ave. The repair will require a closure of the westbound lane on Emmett Ave at laneway during the repair period. Two-way traffic will be maintained using the eastbound lane. Work will take place Monday–Friday between 7:00am–7:00pm for 2-4 weeks.
Basement Flooding Protection: Fairbank-Silverthorn (Phase 1)
Beginning October 4, 2021, the City of Toronto will begin construction of the Fairbank-Silverthorn Storm Trunk Sewer System. Work will be carried out in two phases. When both phases of construction are complete, the new infrastructure will help to reduce sewer backups and basement flooding in the Fairbank-Silverthorn area.
