New: Sidewalk Restoration Works at Caledonia Station
As early as, Monday, June 20, 2022, crews at Caledonia Station will be performing sidewalk restoration works on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West between Blackthorne Avenue and Croham Road. To facilitate this work, the sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West between Blackthorne Avenue and Croham Road will be temporarily closed. Pedestrians will be safely rerouted around the work zone. Westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to two lanes east of Blackthorne Avenue. This works is expected to take place on Monday – Friday between 7:00 am to 5:00 pm for approximately one (1) week.
New: Basement Flooding Protection Program Sanitary & Storm Sewer Upgrades & Road Resurfacing on Wright Avenue
This notice provides an update on the sewer upgrades and road resurfacing on Wright Avenue. Basement Flooding construction on Wright Avenue was scheduled to be completed in 2022. However, due to groundwater issues during construction, the work on Wright Avenue has been postponed and will require additional investigation and design before construction can resume. The City will tender the proposed basement flooding work on Wright Avenue under a new contract and the work is planned to start between the end of 2022 and early 2023. Following completion of the underground work, the roadway will be fully resurfaced.
New: Lane Reductions on Eglinton Avenue West Between Weston Road & Black Creek Drive for Landscaping Works
As early as Thursday, June 9, 2022, crews at Mount Dennis Station will begin landscaping works on Eglinton Avenue West between Weston Road and Black Creek Drive. To facilitate this work, eastbound and westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Weston Road and Black Creek Drive. Lane reduction will only be in place while work takes place and will be reinstated at the end of the workday. This work is expected to take place on Monday – Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for approximately three (3) months.
New: Watermain Cleaning & Relining on Trethewey Drive from Greenbrook Drive to Yore Road
The City of Toronto will be cleaning and structurally relining the watermain in your area starting in May 2022. The work will take place on Trethewey Drive from Greenbrook Drive to Yore Road. During this process, the City will also replace the City-owned portion of any substandard water service pipes.
The water service is the underground pipe that brings water from the watermain to your water meter and is owned by you and by the City. The part owned by the City is from the municipal watermain to your property line. The part owned by you is from your property line to your water meter.
This project is part of the Council-approved Capital Works Program to renew Toronto's aging infrastructure, improve water distribution and reduce the risk of watermain breaks.

Sidewalks are a critical piece of transportation infrastructure that improve accessibility and safety for all road users, particularly for children, seniors and those with mobility challenges. City policy calls for sidewalks on one or both sides of local roads. Our data shows that sidewalks are missing on Cardell Avenue and Fairglen Crescent and will be added as part of the planned work.

Gaffney Park Erosion Control & Drainage Project
Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), in partnership with the City of Toronto, is preparing to conduct erosion control and drainage works within Gaffney Park between Castleton Avenue and Ravenal Street, to mitigate impacts to the rear of Terry Drive properties. The project will involve stormwater drainage improvements and erosion repairs along the Gaffney Park Trail. This will include the construction of grassed swales, infiltration trenches, and a minor trail realignment to improve stormwater conveyance within the park. Implementation of the project is scheduled to begin in Summer 2022, pending the receipt of all necessary permits and approvals, and is anticipated to be completed by end of 2022, excluding final restoration.
Groundwater and Surface Water Sampling along Eglinton Avenue West from Scarlett Road to Emmett Avenue
Groundwater samples will be collected from five monitoring wells located along Eglinton Avenue West, beginning just west of Scarlett, to Emmett Avenue. Sample will be collected using portable pumps, powered by battery packs. All equipment is portable. One surface water sample will be collected from the Humber River. Staff will walk to the River, and collect samples from the river bank.

Toronto Hydro is upgrading the electrical distribution system in your community to improve the reliability of your electrical service. This includes upgrading overhead and underground electrical cables and replacing hydro poles on city-owned property near your lot.
