Toronto Enters Step Three

Step Three Message (1).png

Dear friends and neighbours,

Effective this morning at 12:01 AM, the Province of Ontario moved to Step Three of the Roadmap to Reopen. The City of Toronto has also updated its COVID-19: Reopening Guide for Toronto Residents with a list of activities that are now permitted.

What is New in Step Three:
Last week, I released an update outlining some of the biggest changes to the province's COVID-19 guidelines that take effect in Step Three. If you have not yet read that email, you can do so here.

In addition to the changes outlined in my update, please note that physical distancing is no longer mandated at Toronto parks and public squares.

What is Next for Ontario:
We have now reached the final stage of Ontario's Roadmap to Reopen. Currently, there is no official information regarding the further reduction of COVID-19 restrictions across the province. However, Dr. Moore, Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health, has stated that pre-pandemic life could return as early as August 6, 2021, contingent on the following factors:

  • 80% of Ontario residents aged 12+ single-vaccinated

  • 75% of Ontario residents aged 12+ fully vaccinated

  • 70% of Ontario residents aged 12+ fully vaccinated in each of the province's 34 public health units

Sincerely,
Frances
