Dear friends and neighbours,

Last weekend I joined residents of Queens Drive to celebrate the spirit of Halloween while championing accessibility. This event was all about creating memorable moments and spreading the vital message that an accessible and inclusive Halloween is the best kind for everybody. I want to encourage all residents to make this Halloween more accessible and inclusive for everyone. You can find out more about this great initiative and download the "Treat Accessibly" lawn sign in my News section down below.

This coming Tuesday, on October 24th, I will be honored to stand alongside the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) to announce the grand opening of six new affordable rental condo units at "The Humber," located at 10 Wilby Crescent in Weston. These newly established units have been thoughtfully designed to cater to the urgent housing needs of MNO citizens. This event also marks the celebration of two significant anniversaries in 2023—the 30th anniversary of the MNO and the 20th anniversary of the landmark Métis rights decision in R v. Powley. This represents a significant victory for affordable housing, and I am optimistic that we will witness more such successes in the near future.

Wishing you and your loved ones a sunny weekend.

Sincerely,
Frances
