Study Update: Yorkdale Block Master Plan
The City of Toronto is undertaking a Block Master Plan study for the Yorkdale Shopping Centre and a related Transportation Master Plan (TMP). The results of the detailed evaluation will be released in Fall 2021, and the public will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the preferred solutions before a final report is presented to City Council for consideration.
Traffic Configuration Change: Eglinton Ave W
As early as Tuesday, August 9, 2021, a new traffic configuration will be implemented on Eglinton Avenue West between Weston Road and Black Creek Drive. This configuration is expected to remain in place for approximately five weeks. One lane of through traffic in each direction will be maintained.

Toronto Hydro Electrical Upgrade: Dufferin-Wiltshire
Toronto Hydro is rebuilding the electrical distribution system to improve the reliability of electrical service in the area. The revised timeline of the project is May 2020 to April 2022.

Toronto Hydro is rebuilding the electrical distribution system on sections of Weston Road to improve the reliability of electrical service in the area. The expected timeline of the project is September 2021 to February 2022.
Watermain Replacement on Kincort St
The City of Toronto will replace the watermain and the City-owned portion of substandard water services on Kincort Street from Castlefield Avenue to Ingram Drive. The project will run from August 16, 2021 to November 27, 2021.
Temporary Traffic Change: Weston Rd/Eglinton Ave W
As early as Tuesday August 3, 2021, crews will implement a temporary traffic configuration at Weston Road and Eglinton Avenue West to facilitate road restoration works. This configuration is expected to remain in place for approximately one week. Once this traffic stage is complete, crews will shift construction outside of the intersection and a new traffic configuration will be implemented.

A number of residents have notified our office of a recent spike in coyote sightings in York South—Weston. Unfortunately, coyote sightings have become more common across the Greater Toronto Area, likely due to decreased human activity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Virtual Public Information Event: Basement Flooding Protection Program
This summer, the City of Toronto will begin construction work to mitigate the impact of basement flooding in the Fairbank-Silverthorn area. On July 29, the City will be hosting a Virtual Public Information Event to provide residents with an overview of the project.
Nightly Westbound Lane Closures on Eglinton Ave W
The westbound lane of Eglinton Avenue W between Black Creek Dr and Weston Rd will be closed on weekday evenings to install the fire hydrants and facilitate wet utility connections work. Closures will be in place between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am, for approximately three weeks.

In order to best protect yourself from the virus, it is highly recommended that you get fully vaccinated as soon as possible. Recent data from Public Health Ontario shows strong evidence for the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines.
Toronto Enters Step Three
Effective this morning at 12:01 AM, the Province of Ontario moved to Step Three of the Roadmap to Reopen. The City of Toronto has also updated its COVID-19: Reopening Guide for Toronto Residents with a list of activities that are now permitted.

Kitchener Corridor Maintenance: Toronto West
Weather permitting, work to align and smooth out the tracks will begin in your community the weeks of June 6 – 26, 2021. The work will be completed travelling north to south, moving approximately 1.5kms every night, from Old Weston and Davenport Road to Queen Street and Dufferin Street.

Yet, in spite of these unprecedented circumstances, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel—the school year is mere days from over, vaccination rates are steadily rising, and the City of Toronto is beginning to safely reopen.

I am excited to announce that a pop-up vaccine clinic will be taking place this coming Saturday (June 19) for those interested in receiving their first or second doses of the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine. The vaccination clinic will be located in the parking lot of the Sam & Nancy No Frills. The clinic will run from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM, depending on the vaccine supply.
Storm Sewer Upgrades and Watermain Replacements
Basement Flooding Protection Program work in the Weston area is progressing well and is on schedule for completion in Summer 2021. The majority of the work was completed in 2020. Please find information about what has been completed and what remains.
